  • From there, the AD122 bus from Haltwhistle runs every two hours and stops right outside.
  • Or, you could take the stunning 40-minute walk along the Burn Gorge from Haltwhistle town.

Please email fieldshelter.arts@gmail.com with any questions on how to get here.

Accessibility

Right now, the Field Shelter is not accessible for wheelchair users, but we will be working to change this in the coming months. For now, here is some information about access to the Field Shelter:

  • Access is currently through a wide 5-bar gate straight from the road.
  • The Field Shelter sits in a grass field which is on a hill. There is currently no path so visitors must cross the gently sloping grass to reach the concrete pad on which the building sits.
  • There is an approximately 8cm threshold at the door.
  • The door is a standard width of 81cm.
  • The interior of the building is level throughout.
